DRY SKIN

Autumn arrived and perhaps, with the change in weather, you began to feel roughness, flaking and small cracks or redness, inflammation, as well as tightness and itchiness on your skin. First, don't worry. Dry skin, also called Xerosis, can have many causes. If you identify them you can prevent it.

Skin tends to be drier in winter, when temperatures and humidity levels drop. Heating systems dry out the skin, just like taking baths with very hot water.

Another cause of dry skin is the use of harsh chemicals that are contained in popular soaps, detergents or shampoos as they are designed to remove oil. Chlorine from swimming pools also has negative consequences on our skin. All this can be aggravated if you live with atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis or psoriasis.

As always, the recommendation is that you go to the dermatologist. However, with small actions every day you can prevent and improve your skin.

1.- Use cleansers that have emollients or that are specific for sensitive skin. Here we leave these that may be useful

2.- Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

3.- Take short baths with warm water.

4.- Cover most of your skin to protect it from wind, cold and sun.

5.- Wear gloves.

6.- Drink a lot of water and sleep 6 to 8 hours a day. This will help hydration and regeneration of your body (including your skin).

We wish you calm, soft and protected skin!

“Be good to your skin. You'll wear it every day for the rest of your life.”
